The original procurement timetable has been delayed by coronavirus. Now a formal tender is due out on 6 July some five weeks later than expected with an online briefing session about the role due to take place on 9 July.

The integration partner will deliver project and programme management services and manage interfaces on the three main works contracts.

Highways England’s decision to appoint a key integration partner role
superseded initial plans for an Early Works Delivery Manager for the project.

The agency said it had taken lessons from the Thames Tideway and Crossrail projects, and aimed to create an integrated client team alongside its core Highways England team and technical partner.

Under a £242m contract, the integration partner would support the successful integration of the planned three main works contracts.

To enhance the capability and capacity of the client team, Highways England is looking for considerable experience and expertise in delivering complex construction projects.

The successful firm would be on-board through the full project life-cycle from procurement and mobilisation of three main works contractors, construction delivery, through commissioning into operation.

For further information email Highways England before 9 July.
