This year Croatian forum of Congress industry was held in the hotel „Palace“, Zagreb on December 3rd. The main topic of the meeting was: „The influence of the congess incentive industry on destination development“. Starting with the welcome speach from the vice president of HUPKT (Croatian Association of Professionals in Congress Tourism) Mr Ranko Filipović, around 60 participants were ready for the first lecture of

the MICE expert Mr Paul Kennedy who presented the situation in the UK. After his introductory lecture and a short break it was time for for the year award „Ambasador of Croatian Congress Tourism“ and its winners in four categories.

The first place in the category Individuals / institutions from the scientific, cultural, sports and business community responsible for maintaining international events in Croatia was awarded to Dr. Sc. Davorin Kolić of ITA Croatia and his organization team.

Mr Kolić explained: This is the first time that Croatia organized the World Tunnel Congress and taking into account this reputable award – it was a success. WTC15 was the biggest international gathering of the Croatian technical community ever, with more than 1500 registered participants. After all, the people were hungry and obviosely enjojing in Croatian food as there was 20 percent consumed more than congress standards foresee, joked Mr Kolić.
