ITA Executive Council visited the Brunel Museum

03 October 2017

At the occasion of the Executive Council meeting that took place end of September in London, Executive Council members had the privilege to visit the Brunel Museum.

We were received by Robert Hulse, Director of the Museum and the visit was organized with the help of Martin Knights, former President of ITA and Trustee of The Brunel Museum Rotherhithe.

All ExCo members enjoyed the visit of this museum with many drawings and plans of the first Thames tunnel built by Marc Brunel and his son Isabard Kingdom Brunel, who has been chosen by ITA for being the emblematic figure of the ITA Tunnelling Awards. At this occasion, Prof Tarcisio Celestino, ITA President presented the museum with the bust of IK Brunel.
