On december 4th and 5th, at the occasion of the #worldtunnelday, the general Directorate of highways, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and the Turkish Road Association-YMTK (ITA Member Nation) had organised the 2nd National Tunnelling and Underground Space Conference and Exhibition. Around 800 people participated in this very instructive conference, endorsed by ITA. During the Opening ceremony, Olivier Vion, ITA Executive Director delivered a welcome message on behalf of ITA, presented ITA and its activities as well as a short presentation on how the use of underground space is a way to reach the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Hamdi Aydin member of the board of YMTK and of ITA Executive council presented the tunnelling works and perspectives in Turkey. 

Other very interesting presentations have been made on road tunnels, high speed railway tunnels, subway tunnels.
