ITA New President

The ITA’s 48th General Assembly held in Copenhagen (Denmark), elected Mr Arnold Dix from Australia as its new President, for the term 2022-2025. He succeeds Jenny (Jinxiu) Yan from China.

Arnold Dix is a Professor of Engineering a scientist and a barrister. The new president has been Vice-President of the ITA since 2019.  

Dix’s argument is that the tunnelling industry needs to articulate the benefits of underground space and infrastructure through the language of climate change, in ways that can be clearly understood by everyone. “It’s not just about carbon, it’s about our social, economic and environmental footprint and what we can deliver for society,” said Dix, at the World Tunnel Congress.

The new Executive Council also elected for the period 2022-2025 consists of the following members:

In addition, a new Governance Council was elected:

Leslie Pakianathan, Singapore (2022–2024)

Indeed, the city of Stockolm, Sweeden has been chosen to host the 51st General Assembly and WTC 2025.
