On September 21 and 22, the ITA Executive Council members met in Panama for a 2 day intensive meeting. Many topics were on the agenda such Working Groups and Committees activities, Communication,Relationship with Industry, Young Members....

It has also been the occasion to organise a one day workshop for Panamean engineers with presentations from ExCo members dedicated to metro construction. During the day presentations have been made on Coppenhagen, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Santiago and Mexico. At the moment the first line of the Panama metro is close to completion and should be commissioned by the end of the year.

ITA ExCO members had alos the chance to visit the site of expansion of the Panama Canal. This extraordinary infrastructure which will be 100 years next year is being enlarged to cope with always bigger ships that want to cross from Pacific to Atlantic oceans and vice versa.
