Modern tunnels are designed and built for a lifetime of 100 years or more. However, the lifetime of tunnel equipment can be signficantly shorter, partly due to new technological developments. Equipment or whole systems may need to be replaced or adapted. The sustainable operation of tunnels is only possible if the lifetime and maintenance cycles of the different components are correctly synchronized.
The Hagerbach Test Gallery (in Flums Hochwiese, Switzerland) and ITA-CET are pleased to announce a two-day DEMINAR on the Life-cycle Management of tunnels. Experts in the field will discuss various topis within the following four sessions:
- Design aspects
- Maintanance of structures
- Maintenance of equipment
- Evolution of methods and techniques.
In adition to oral presentations, there will be several demonstrations in relation to the topics discussed:
- Fire detection
- Painting for tunnels
- Tunnel lighting
- Emergency exits
- Decalcification
