ITACUS organises side-event at WUF9

31 January 2018
Kuala Lumpur is the host for the ninth World Urban Forum, organised by UN-Habitat. WUF9 will focus on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda adopted during Habitat III in Quito, Ecuador, in 2016. The cities of the future need to consider both sustainable development and urban resilience. Underground space can play an important role in this context. ITA will be present during WUF9 with a stand in the exhibition and ITACUS is hosting a side-event.    The World Urban Forum 9 "Urban Underground Space for Cities of the Future" Side Event will be held on February 8, 17:00-18:00, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, room 403. The event is organized by the International Tunnelling Association with participants from ITACUS, ISOCARP and UN-Habitat. During this side-event, a complimentary Young Professional’s Think Deep Programme workshop will be offered to one of the cities attending this side event. A unique opportunity to gather young professionals for a week-long workshop in your city to study an urban planning issue and include the urban underground space in the solutions offered. On behalf of ITACUS Han Admiraal (co-chair) and Petr Salak (activity group leader YPTDP) will be attending.   You can find more information on the WUF9 website by following this link.
