The Greek Tunnelling Society Young Members hosted ITACUS, the ITA Committee on Underground Space, for an online workshop on “Expanding underground, Knowledge & Passion to Make a Positive Impact on the world” on the 1st of July 2020.

The main presentation was given by Antonia Cornaro, co-chair of ITACUS, on “Past Present and Future of Underground Space“, followed by Han Admiraal, the other co-chair of ITACUS, on the strategic development of ITACUS, "The next level up is down“, and Rosanne Verloop, ITACUS Young Talent Ambassador, on how to reach out to the next generation. 

A discussion panel under the lead of Dr Chrysothemis Paraskevopoulou, AG leader of Itacus, and Ioannis Fikiris, Chair of the Greek Tunneling Society was held following the presentations with questions from the participants.

It was attended by 115 participants from around the world via Teams and a live YouTube stream. The video of the proceedings is available on YouTube.The presentations start at minute 10. At minute 110 Han Admiraal explains the new ITACUS strategy “The next level up is down” which explains how the Hagerbach Test Gallery,  SCAUT, and THE.HUS Institute as ITACUS industry partners started the MISSION EARTH FIRST initiative.
