As part of the Geneva ITA Open Session the ITACUS produced video ‘Imagine – Why cities should know about underground space’ was presented ITACUS Chairman Han Admiraal and ITACUS Secretary General Antonia Cornaro officially handed over the video to the UN Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction Margareta Wahlström. Margareta Wahlström accepted the video and stated that she believes that underground space use can contribute to disaster risk reduction in urban areas. Han Admiraal explained that the video, which specifically targets an audience of planners, policy makers and decision makers, was made to demonstrate how the use of underground space can help cities become more resilient. The video is part of the work ITACUS is doing and will be followed up in 2014 with a campaign ‘What cities should know about underground space’.
