Celebration of ITA 50th anniversary
On April 23rd, 2024, during the WTC in Shenzhen the ITA celebrated its 50th anniversary.
A full plenary session was devoted to this event with the participation physically or through a recorded video message of all past ITA President.
The Acting Executive Director of UN Habitat graced us with his presence and delivered a very encouraging speech thanking AITES for all of its actions in favour of sustainable development and particularly in the context of the urbanization of developing countries

During this session have been presented the book and the video celebrating 50 Iconic Tunnelling and Underground Space projects over the last 5 decades and the booklet retracing in photos the 50 years of the association

Among the numerous tunnels that have been built during the last 50 years, the ITA Member Nations and a specific task force chose 50 projects that represent the evolution, innovation, skill, efficiency of a tunnel or underground space in the different part of the world.
A video (see on the right) and a book have been produced.
