The 10th Iranian Tunnelling Conference, organized by IRTA, 4-7 November, was well attended by around 300 participants and about 50 exhibitors and 143 papers. Olivier Vion represented ITA and it has been the opportunity to have a meeting with the board of IRTA. IRTA became an ITA member in 1999

The Iranian Association is very active with around 1,000 members including more 350 students. IRTA has got 8 WGs on different topics such as Management, ventilation, mechanized tunnelling, safety, tunnel in urban areas....They organized monthly seminars
