The Australasian Tunnelling Society is a Technical Society of Engineers Australia (EA) and affiliated with the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and in New Zealand with the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ.)
The ATS has over 800 individual members, over 30 company Gold Members and six Platinum company sponsors.
The ATS organized several conferences : 14th Australian Tunnelling Conference - 8th to10th March 2011- Auckland New Zealand & 2nd ATS Golf Day October 2011, and regularly by Victoria Chapter, Western Australia, NSW Chapter, Queensland chapter.
The Allen Neyland Tunnelling Achievement Award has been awarded to Arnold Dix.
