AG1 News - ITA Activities

The Young Professionals Think Deep Programme is organised by ITACUS together with our strategic partner ISOCARP (International Society of City and Regional Planners). The programme is based on the long-running Young Planning Professionals' Programme introduced by ISOCARP over 25 years ago and aimed at helping both young planners in their professional development and at the same time cities with interdisciplinary planning challenges. Typically, a YPTDP workshop consists of a week-long activity where young planners, architects, engineers, geologists and other related professionals work on a real-life case. The methodology used can differ per workshop. Through these workshops, ITACUS and ISOCARP aim at producing a new publication on underground planning methodology. Watch a video on the YPTDP here.

The Young Professionals Think Deep Programme (YPTDP) is organized together by ITACUS and ISOCARP (International Society of City and Regional Planners). It brings together young professionals from different disciplines - such as urban planners, tunnellers, geologists, architects, etc. - under the guidance of a professional tutor to work on interdisciplinary planning issues faced by the modern city. The program provides the city with fresh and innovative ideas while the Young Professionals benefit from each other’s experience and the direct contact with high-level professionals (tutors).

After two successful YPTDPs in Glasgow and Wrocław, plans for further events came to a halt due to the global pandemic situation. We are now all the more pleased that another program is planned for 2022. This time in the dynamic and ever-growing city Hong Kong. We’re looking forward to working on an inspiring workshop theme and contribute to the city’s future!
